TransWales occurs on the first full weekend in May​​ each year. 

#TransWales26 details:
  • Start: Fri 1 May 2026, start anytime from 8pm to midnight on the road below Menai Bridge, Bangor 
  • End: Cardiff Bay Barrage

​​​​Key points:
  • The route is from Bangor to Cardiff : ~350km long with ~6,200m of ascent via 4 checkpoints (all dams) spread out over the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacon) NPs
  • The trial consists of a start point, 4 checkpoints, and an end point.  You choose the route passing through these checkpoints.
  • Post a timestamped photo on Instagram at the start, at each checkpoint, and at the finish tagging @theracingcollective and using the event hashtag. See the 'Trans' Rules for more.
  • In addition to your standard checks when planning your route, use Open Road to check for potential route hazards to avoid
