Overview

​TransEngland occurs on the first full weekend in April​​ each year (apart from 2021 when it was pushed back to May due to COVID-19). 

#transengland22 details:
  • Start: Fri 1 April 2022, anytime from 8pm to midnight on Morecambe Pier
  • End: The Diving Belle statue in Scarborough

​​Key points:
  • The route is from Morecambe to Scarborough: ~290km long with ~5,000m of ascent taking in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
  • The trial consists of a start point, 6 checkpoints, and an end point.  You choose the route passing through these checkpoints.
  • Tweet a timestamped photo at the start, at each checkpoint, and at the finish using the #TransEngland22 hashtag.

Entry

Step 1​ - book travel/accommodation as per below (most TRC riders will follow this itinerary but by all means do your own thing):
  1. Book train with bike reservation to Morecambe to arrive on Friday evening
  2. Book train with bike reservation from Scarborough early Saturday evening or Sunday morning
  3. If staying the night on Saturday, book a bed in YHA Scarborough
  4. Some crazies may ride back to Morecambe via the Way of the Roses route
​Step 2 - ​enter the trial:
  1. Fill in the Trials Contact Form - link available on the Trials page (same form for all standard TRC trials; no signup, no results)
  2. ​Join our club on Strava if not already a member and sign-up to the event on Strava - here
