TransScotland occurs on the first full weekend in June​​ each year. 

#TransScotland26 details:
  • Start: anytime on Sat 6 June or Sun 7 June 2026, from Inverness Castle. (Note as CalMac can be unreliable we've extended the start window to include Friday to provide some flexibility).
  • End: ​Fort William train station

​​​Key points:
  • The route is from Inverness to Fort William : ~530km long with ~6,000m of ascent taking in some beautiful parts of the Highlands.
  • The trial consists of a start point, 4 checkpoints, and an end point.  You choose the route passing through these checkpoints.
  • Post a timestamped photo on Instagram at the start, at each checkpoint, and at the finish tagging @theracingcollective and using the event hashtag. See the 'Trans' Rules for more.
  • In addition to your standard checks when planning your route, use Open Road to check for potential route hazards to avoid
