pubduroNYM is a 140km self-supported bikepacking pubcrawl over  the stunning gravel of the North York Moors National Park held over 2 days on the August bank holiday weekend each year.  Unlike our other rides, this will be ridden at a super relaxed pace.

#pubduroNYM23 will take place on 26-27 August 2023:
  • Start: anytime from 9am on Saturday 26 August 2023 at The Forrester's Arms (Kilburn) [54.209920, -1.215000]
  • End: ~lunchtime on Sunday 27 August 2023 with an ice cream at Robin Hood's Bay

We will visit 4 of the finest pubs in the North York Moors:
  • The Buck Inn,
  • Lion Inn,
  • White Horse Farm Inn, and
  • The Horseshoe Inn.
Of course drinking and riding is a dangerous mix and something we would never advocate; as with all our rides, riders are entirely responsible for your own actions, including what you chose to drink at the various watering holes.

The etiquette is to ride with who you want, when you want. Some people will want to lounge, some people will want to race. Don't feel like you have to wait for the group as it might be a pain at the pubs if we all turn up at the same time.

What bike shall I ride?
You'd ideally ride this on a gravel/adventure
/cyclocross bike with >35mm tyres. A rigid MTB would also be fine.

Itinerary
Friday night:
  • Get a train to Thirsk or Northallerton in the evening and ride a few km to bivvy at:
    54.219542, -1.231376
Saturday:
  • Ride a few km's of the route and have breakfast at High Paradise Farm
  • We'll then have lunch at one of the pubs on route.
  • We'll probably eat dinner at the White Horse Farm Inn and then camp out on the moor after so no need to carry cooking equipment (but by all means do if you want).  You will need a bivvy bag and light sleeping bag/down jacket.
Sunday:
  • Finish off the remaining ~65km of the route, will try to find breakfast en route
  • Finish off with an ice cream at Robin Hood's Bay at around lunchtime
  • Most people will take the cycle route down to Scarborough to get a train back to Thirsk/Northallerton... or maybe you've just made a new best friend you can cook up a ride with
